Broughty Ferry

Next door to us is Broughty Ferry. Since Victorian times, Broughty Ferry has been one of Scotland's most popular waterfront destinations, renowned for its fine seafront esplanade and award-winning golden sands.

Approximately a 20-25 min walk along the beach front to the right to Broughty Ferry where you will find lots more café’s, restaurants, and shops etc

For dog owners, you can get a meal and take your dog in. Most display dog friendly in the window. The Ship Inn is recommended (also pet friendly in bar).

How to travel

Bus - Bus services run West (Broughty Ferry & Dundee) & East (Carnoustie & Arbroath) from outside Tescos in the High Street in Monifieth.

Train – (Web: Scotrail.co.uk)
The Monfieth Train platform can be found by going through the main gates and turn right. Through the railway tunnel, take the 1st left then follow the road to the corner. Train service runs roughly every hour (please check times on Scotrail website as they change the times often). Tickets can be purchased either online, from a conductor on the train (if there is one) or at Dundee Station which will be needed to return to Monifieth.

The train takes roughly 2-3 mins to Broughty Ferry and 7-10 mins to Dundee City Centre (Dundee train station is located across the road from the new Dundee V&A).
